Vice-President for the Energy Union Maroš Šefčovič is participating in the first EU Energy Infrastructure Forum in Copenhagen hosted by Denmark. The Forum gives momentum to the development of trans-European energy infrastructure by raising political attention and building consensus among EU countries, project promoters and relevant stakeholders.
Vice-President Šefčovič said: "The Juncker Commission has promised to be big on big things and to focus on matters which have a significant impact on the lives of European citizens. The Energy Union is one of them. What we need now is free movement of energy. It is therefore essential that we have the right infrastructure in place".
The new Energy Infrastructure Forum, set to take place annually, is a key action of the EU Energy Union Strategy launched in February 2015. The conference will be LIVE web streamed.
